(March 26, 2012) – Dr. Bonita Jacobs, president of North Georgia College & State University, has announced today the appointment of the administrative team for the institution that will be formed through the pending consolidation of North Georgia and Gainesville State College. Jacobs is the president-designate for the consolidated institution.
“The new structure maximizes the strengths and experience of current administrators from North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College and is designed to reflect the consolidated institution’s increased scope of mission and service area,” she said. “I am confident that this team will provide strong and effective leadership as we become one institution in this historic consolidation.”
The new administrative team includes:
Provost – Dr. Patricia Donat
Senior Vice President, University Affairs – Dr. Al Panu
Vice President, Oconee Campus – Dr. Margaret Venable
Vice President, Business and Finance – Mac McConnell
Associate Vice President, Business and Finance – Wanda Aldridge
Vice President, Student Affairs – Dr. Tom Walter
Vice President, Advancement – Dr. Andy Leavitt
Vice President, Community and Public Affairs – Mary Transue
Vice President, Executive Affairs – Billy Wells
The new administrative structure will become effective in January 2013. In the meantime, these administrators will provide active leadership with the many operational workgroups that are charged with the detailed planning work of consolidation.
Additionally, Jacobs has appointed Dr. Patricia Donat as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at North Georgia College & State University. Donat has been serving in that role on a temporary basis since May 2010, and the appointment is effective immediately.
“With these administrative positions set, the operating systems working groups that are now being formed will be able to more effectively address the remaining structural and organizational changes that will need to be considered through the planning process,” Jacobs said.
